Site work and new construction of a civil project in Altamont, New York. Conceptual plans call for the construction of a water / sewer project; and for site work for a water / sewer project.
Project work includes construction of a new transmission main and pump station to connect their water system to the Town of Guilderland's water system, and purchase water from the Town as either an emergency backup or a supplemental supply. The Town's primary water source is the Watervliet Reservoir, which is owned by the City of Watervliet. The Town also purchases water from the City of Albany and Town of Rotterdam. The Village's existing Brandle Road wells will remain online as a source of backup supply. The proposed improvements generally include the installation of approximately 6,900 linear feet of 8-inch ductile iron water main and associated gate valve and hydrant assemblies, one master meter pit at the connection point to the Town's water main, and one new booster pump station. As of July 11, 2025, this project is in the conceptual phase. Information regarding a design firm and the general contractor selection timeline has not been disclosed.
