Unplanned On call Critical Tree Removal Services . The Contractor shall provide all supervision, labor (to include a "climber" when necessary), equipment, fuel, traffic control (per the most recent version of the Virginia Work Area Protection Manual) and any other incidentals necessary to meet the requirements of the performance specifications stated within. The work shall consist of critical tree removal (per the requirements in this Invitation for Bid) and removal and disposal of all generated debris. The Contractor shall be capable of commencing work within ten (10) calendar days after the contract is awarded. Any questions regarding this invitation for bid shall be submitted in writing to nasir.chhipa@vdot.virginia.gov no later than 5 business days, prior to the closing date. The issuing office shall determine whether any addendum should be issued as a result of any questions or other matters raised. PERIOD OF CONTRACT: One year from date of award with four (4), one (1) year renewal options. VDOT reserves the right to perform any type, or portion, of work within the limits of this operation and the right to supply additional trucks and/or equipment from VDOT sources if deemed necessary by the CA or designee. The Contractor shall work with VDOT and other Contractors as necessary. The Virginia Department of Transportation herein referred to as "VDOT" is soliciting bids from interested firms to perform unplanned/on-call critical tree removal services (trees removed within 24 hours of notification to the contractor) in accordance of the performance specifications herein, within the Lynchburg District along highway rights-of-way within Halifax and Pittsylvania counties.
