(2) - MP/MP Pavement Resurfacing (Design H-1 Level A, T-1 Level A) Project B. Rt 33, Deerwood Dr to Perrineville Rd/prodelin Way (Cr 625) Hamilton Twp, Robbinsville Twp, East Windsor Twp, Hightstown Borough, Monroe Twp; Counties of Mercer & Middlesex Project Background: The NJDOT Pavement Management System (PMS) submitted a Problem Statement for this roadway section identifying it as a highest priority due to poor pavement conditions, ride quality, drainage, and overall safety. Purpose and Need: The purpose of the project is to rehabilitate the pavement surface and extend the service life of the roadway. This roadway section has been identified by the Pavement Management System as being in need of rehabilitation to extend the service life of Route 33. Preliminary Preferred Alternative (PPA): The preferred alternative selected for advancement is a 2.5" depth of milling and paving for mainline and shoulder less than 6 feet and 2.0" depth of milling and paving for ramps and outside shoulder greater than 6 feet. Pavement: Along with 2-2.5" mill and pave for mainline and shoulders, concrete slab and asphalt repair/replacement is noted as "if and where directed". Full depth pavement replacement along Rt. 33 for a small section of 0.1 mile is recommended. Structure: Since this is a limited scope project, no structural scope of work is included in this project. Out of seven (7) bridge structures, three bridge decks require asphalt overlays. All existing vertical clearance for the structures over Rt 33, including sign structures, must be maintained. Guiderail bridge attachments will be replaced to meet current standards, as required. Pedestrian and Bicycle Facilities: ADA requirements will follow the NJDOT's guidance for ADA Project Design. Curb ramps should be provided where sidewalk crosses a curb at a street or major driveway. Twenty one (21) signalized and several unsignalized intersections require ADA compliant curt ramps. Survey: Field survey is required during Final Design. 10.00% ESBEs Allows zero unit prices and labor Yes Allows negative unit prices and labor Yes Last Date to Submit Questions:7/15/2025 Anticipated Selection Date: October 2025 E-mail question(s) to PSPD@dot.nj.gov NJDOT: RFP Engineering - Rt 33, Deerwood Dr to Perrineville Rd/prodelin Way (CR 625)
