Construction is expected to start in October of 2026 and all phased completed by February 2030. *Previous solicitation listed below for reference:* Engineering Services For over 115 years, the Yakima-Tieton Irrigation District has been a cornerstone of Central Washington's agricultural. community. The District's 12-mile-long Main Canal, which traverses the rugged terrain of Tieton Canyon along Highway 12 west of Naches, WA, has reliably conveyed water to the Yakima Valley for over a century-supporting approximately $700 million in annual crop revenue and thousands of local jobs. This vital infrastructure provides water to the communities of West Yakima, Tieton, and Cowiche for agriculture, residential use, and fire suppression. It also supplements Cowiche Creek, a tributary of the Naches River, which is part of ongoing ESA restoration efforts in the basin. To ensure the continued viability of this essential resource, the District is undertaking the Main Canal Replacement Project. The Yakima-Tieton Irrigation District is requesting Statements of Qualifications (SOQ) from professional engineering firms to provide design and construction management services for the upgrade of the District's Main Canal, beginning with the upper 4.8 miles.
