FIELD BOOK NO. 587, 588, 591,617 No oral interpretations will be made to any bidder. Each request for clarification shall be made in writing to the City or engineer no less than four (4) days prior to the bid opening. Bids are invited for several items and quantities of work as follows:1.Removal & Replacement of 12" Sanitary Sewer Line (6,200 LF)2.Manholes (28 EA)3.Service Reconnections (28 EA) A bid bond in the amount of 5 percent of the bid issued by an acceptable surety shall be submitted with each bid. A certified check or bank draft payable to the City of Nixon or negotiable U.S. Government Bonds (as par value) may be submitted in lieu of the Bid Bond. Minority Business Enterprises, Small Business Enterprises, Women Business Enterprises, Section 3 Businesses, and labor surplus area firms are encouraged to submit bids. This contract is subject to compliance with Section 3 of the HUD Act. Section 3 businesses and workers are encouraged to apply. The City of Nixon reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any informalities in the bidding. Bids may be held by City of Nixon for a period not to exceed sixty (60) consecutive calendar days from the date of the bid opening for the purpose of reviewing the bids and investigating the bidder's qualifications prior to the contract award.
