Site work for a municipal facility in Qualicum Beach, British Columbia. Conceptual plans call for site work for a municipal facility.
The Town invites proposals from qualified contractors for the construction of a new cenotaph and Remembrance site on a designated 10-meter by 10-meter plot of land leased from the E&N Railway, situated at the intersection of Memorial Ave and Railway Avenue. Proponents are advised that while the project must remain within these boundaries, it need not occupy the entire leased area. Key details for consideration by proponents: The available budget for this project is $40,000, inclusive of all costs excluding GST. Up to 3 Town memorial benches are available for inclusion in the design and installation at no cost to the contractor. These 8-foot-long benches can be picked up from the Public Works yard and must be anchored to a concrete slab. Two flag poles are required: contractors may opt to purchase a matching pole and base to go with the pole and base salvaged from Highway 19A and available at the Town's Public Works yard or provide two new poles. The historical plaque from the original cenotaph, which measures 24" by 17", must be incorporated into the new design. The design must be accessible and safe for public use and include a concrete slab featuring elements representative of war, the Legion, or Remembrance Day. Proposals must include a visual representation (diagram/rendering) of the intended design along with a final cost estimate covering all labor, equipment, and materials. Cancelled.
