Demolition and site work for a residential development in Beaumont, Texas. Completed plans call for the demolition of a residential development; and for site work for a residential development.
The City of Beaumont solicits bids for furnishing all labor, equipment, materials, and supplies for the Demolition of Two (2) Residential Structures, Beaumont, Texas. Question Deadline 07/09/2025 at 2:00 PM CT Specific questions concerning items or procedures in this solicitation shall be submitted online This project is for furnishing all labor, equipment, materials and supplies for the demolition and removal of structure(s) listed within this document (See Exhibit "A"). 1.2 Contractor shall commence on start date provided on Notice to Proceed. Failure to commence work on stated date may result in contract termination. Please be advised contractor will not be relieved of commencement date or completion dates due to multiple bid awards. 1.3 Demolition of all structures included in this bid must be completed within the total completion days provided on this bid sheet which shall not exceed a maximum of ten (10) working days. 1.4 Written request for extension of the work due to inclement weather (Rain Days) may be granted upon approval by the City Field Supervisor, Building Codes, 409-880-3762. 1.5 Failure to complete specified work by end of completion date may result in liquidated damages of one hundred dollars ($100.00) per day, per structure. Failure to complete work within a reasonable time after notification of an assessment of liquidated damages, may result in the City having work completed by other forces and contractor may be responsible for costs associated with demolition. 1.6 For purposes of this bid, working days are defined as 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Work may not be performed on Saturday, Sunday, or Holidays without prior approval by the City. 2.0 SCOPE OF WORK for the DEMOLITION of these structures: 2.1 All structures are located within the city limits of Beaumont. 2.2 The Contractor shall make every effort possible to secure demolition site in residential neighborhood. 2.3 It shall be the responsibility of the Contractor to provide security of any and all equipment or material left on the construction site at any time during this contract. 2.4 The structure(s) listed herein are public buildings as defined by the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS). DSHS must be notified prior to demolition. The Contractor will be responsible for establishing a start and finish date and will provide this date on the form provided with the Award Notification. The Contractor will be responsible for filing the DSHS Notification and the City shall pay the applicable fees. The Contractor must immediately notify the Purchasing Department of any changes that will constitute an amendment to the DSHS notification. Due to the proximity of these structures, an Asbestos Inspection was performed by Honesty Environmental Services. There was no asbestos-containing material detected. However, DSHS Notifications are required for these two structures. Should other hazardous materials be detected after commencement of demolition work, the City shall be notified immediately. The City shall not be responsible for any delays to the demolition contractor caused by the remediation of hazardous materials. 2.5 The Contractor will be responsible for ensuring that all utilities are disconnected. This includes calling 811 before you dig to determine location of any underground utilities. A list of these companies follows: _ Entergy Electric Company _ Centerpoint Energy _ City of Beaumont - Water Utilities _ AT&T _ Spectrum The above is provided for informational purposes only. The Contractor is responsible for notifying all utility companies. 2.6 Demolition includes structures, slab/foundation, and parking lots. 2.7 Once a structure is demolished, all debris should be hauled off at that time. 2.8 Under no circumstances may all structures be demolished and then removed. Structures are to be demolished and removed individually. 2.9 All debris, trash, litter, porches/steps, and/or chain walls shall be removed from sites. Contractor is responsible for removing all construction debris, including but not limited to, trash, litter, porches/steps and/or chain walls (to a minimum depth of 24 inches), tires, trees, concrete, etc. NO EXCEPTIONS. 2.10 Trees surrounding the perimeter of the property shall be left in place, if possible. Trees and shrubs adjacent to building may be removed. Downed trees and limbs shall be removed. 2.11 If fences are to remain, contractor shall make every effort to minimize damage to fences. Contractor will be advised prior to commencement of work if fence is to remain in place. Contractor will be responsible for damage to fence as determined by the Field Supervisor. 2.12 Remove all walkways, unless otherwise stated. 2.13 Leave all approaches, unless otherwise stated. 2.14 Contractor is responsible for repairing damage, at the contractor's expense, to existing sidewalks, driveways, and/or fence, if damage is the result of contractor's negligence. The Field Supervisor will determine negligence and his/her decision is final. 2.15 Junked motor vehicles left on property will be removed by others. Question Cut Off Date: 7/9/2025 03:00 PM (ET)
