The construction project includes: The project consists of replacing 37 linear feet of existing 4-36" CMP culvert with 4-36" RCP including concrete headwalls and lowering 50 linear feet of existing 6" water main. Bidders must submit with their bids a bid bond in the amount of five percent (5%) from a reliable Surety Company as a guarantee that the Bidder will enter into a contract and execute the bonds and guarantee forms provided within ten (10) days after notice of award of contract. Checks will not be accepted. The successful Bidder must furnish performance, payment, and maintenance bonds, each in the amount of 100 percent of the contract price from an approved Surety Company holding a permit from the State of Texas, to act as Surety and be acceptable according to the latest list of companies holding certificates of authority from the Secretary of Treasury of the United States, or other Surety or Sureties acceptable to the Owner. Bidders are expected to inspect the work site and inform themselves about the conditions under which the Work is to be done. The City of Celina has adopted prevailing wage rates for Collin County and uses the most current listing. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive formalities. In case of ambiguity or lack of clearness in stating the price in the bids, the Owner reserves the right to consider the most advantageous construction thereof or to reject the bid. Unreasonable or unbalanced unit prices will be considered sufficient cause of rejection of any bid or bids. A. The City of Celina, Texas (herein called Owner) invites proposals for the improvements. B. Bidders will familiarize themselves with the location of the project and the various types of work to be done. The Contractor shall take specific affirmative actions to ensure equal employment opportunity. The Contractor shall implement affirmative action steps at least as extensive as described herein.
