Reference Number 0000391646 Replacement of Poly Storage Tanks and Piping for Disinfection Sodium Hypochlorite Orangetown Sewer Treatment Plant The Work consists of removing three (3) Sodium Hypochlorite Tanks, procuring and replacing the three (3) Sodium Hypochlorite Tanks, replacing the connecting fill and discharge piping, valving, and expansion joints, installing a sight glass for each tank, and coating the containment area with an appropriate, chemical resistant coating suitable for use with Sodium Hypochlorite 12.5% available chlorine concentration. The existing tanks are 8 ft in diameter and 10 ft tall. The tanks must be able to accept both ultrasonic and visual level indicators. The visual level indicators will be of the magnetic flag type. The means and methods for the removal and installation of the tanks must be disclosed in the bid proposal. It is highly encouraged that all potential bidders inspect the site before making a bid proposal. Bids that lack an appropriate method for the removal and install of the tanks will be rejected. The project must begin on or after November 1, 2025 and be completed on or before April 24, 2026 due to the seasonal disinfection requirements that are promulgated by the SPDES permit issued to the Town by the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation. Bonding Requirements - Bid Bond 5 % - Performance Bond 100 % The Town Board requires each bid to be accompanied by a certified check for a sum equal to five percent (5%) of the amount of the bid, or a bond with sufficient sureties to be approved by the Town Attorney, in a sum equal to five percent (5%) of the amount bid, conditioned that if his/her proposal is accepted, he/she will execute such further security as may be required for the faithful performance of the Contract as set forth in these contract documents. The successful bidder will be required to post a Performance Bond in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract Price. No bid will be accepted without a Non-collusion Statement as required pursuant to Section 103d of the General Municipal Law.
