Under this Contract, Contractor shall furnish all materials, appliances, tools, equipment, transportation, services, and all labor and superintendence necessary for the construction of the Work as described in these Technical Specifications and as shown on the Plans. The completed installation shall not lack any part that can be reasonably implied as necessary to its proper functioning or any subsidiary item that is customarily furnished, and Contractor shall deliver the installation to Owner in operating condition. b. The Work, in general, under this Contract includes the purchase, installation, and construction of all structures, equipment, and materials, including appurtenances, as indicated on the Plans. Major items of construction and services required are designated as follows: (1) Install and adjust waterlines, valves, valve boxes, flushing valves, fittings, and appurtenances; (2) Construct and adjust sanitary sewer, manholes and appurtenances; (3) Repair existing pavement affected; (4) Furnish and install all subsidiary items as necessary to complete the project; (5) Perform testing as specified on installed lines; and (6) Clean-up project area upon completion. All work under this section shall include all equipment, labor and materials necessary for storing, handling, proportioning, mixing, placing, finishing and curing concrete. Concrete used in construction shall meet or exceed ACI Standard 318-89, "Building Code Requirements for Reinforced Concrete." This item shall include all labor, equipment, materials, and incidentals necessary to install cement stabilized sand as shown on the plans and shall be placed as specified herein or as directed by the Engineer. A. Stripping Within limits indicated, or in areas where existing grade is to be altered, and in other required locations, strip existing top soil to 4-inch depth, and stockpile in approved areas for subsequent replacement. B. Drainage Maintain surface drainage on site during construction. C. Finished Grade After all borrow material has been placed and compacted, the excess stockpiled top soil (that which is not needed for incidental backfill and/or shaping of the three landscape reserve areas) shall be evenly spread over the designated areas and compacted at or near (+/- 2%) optimum moisture to a minimum 95% of maximum density per ASTM Standard D-698.
