SCOPE AND DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT The existing Tuscola City Pool building consists of approximately 3,750 square feet of space on one level. The existing interior space it to be renovated including but not limited to the following items; demolish and install new epoxy coated concrete floor, install new plumbing fixtures and piping, new ceilings, paint existing and new walls, update existing lighting to LED fixtures and update mechanical system to provide proper air ventilation in shower areas. Exterior renovations to include several new doors and windows and new siding on a portion of the exterior wall. UNION LABOR A. The City strongly recommends using local labor from within Douglas County B. All Contractors shall be a union shop or signatory contractor due to the City signing and agreeing upon a Project Labor Agreement for the Work. VISITING THE SITE Contact city Administrator: J. BID SECURITY A Bid Bond or Certified Check made payable to the Owner in the amount of five percent (5%) of the bid shall be submitted with each bid as guarantee that the bid will not be withdrawn within thirty (30) days after the date of opening of bids, and that the successful bidder will enter into a Contract for the work awarded him. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a satisfactory Performance Bond and a Labor and Material Payment Bond for the full amount of the bid accepted. PREVAILING WAGE RATES Contractors and Subcontractors shall be required to comply with the Prevailing Wage Rates as determined by the Illinois Department of Labor and adopted by the County. SALE TAX This project is exempt from sales tax. The Owner will provide the Contractor with tax exempt identification number upon request. PROPOSAL REJECTION AND IRREGULARITIES The right is reserved by the Owner to reject any or all bids or waive any informality in any bid and to accept any bid considered advantageous to the Owner.
