UAH Required Testing Methods a) All Inspections conducted at UAH shall be coordinated and approved by the Electrical Systems Supervisor and shall adhere to the schedule provided to the Proposer. b) Fire Alarm Inspector shall be a minimum of NICET I certified for Fire Alarm Systems or Fire Alarm Inspections. c) Technicians performing service work on any fire alarm system shall be a minimum of NICET II in Fire Alarm Systems and be factory certified on the system being serviced/maintained d) Inspection point Counts per building are provided on the following pages. e) Please provide pricing per system that you are bidding to inspect. f) Housing Facilities, with the exceptions of Frat and Sorority Houses shall be inspected in the summer months (May-July). Frat and Sorority Buildings shall be performed in December. g) All inspections for the Student Service Building (SSB) shall be performed on weekends. Fire Alarm (Annual Functional Testing) a) Comply with all Functional Testing requirements of NFPA 72 Chapter 14 b) Verify all device locations and labeling are accurately reflected at FACP c) Verify operation of all Emergency Control Functions i. HVAC Shutdown/Fire Doors/Fire Dampers/Mag Lock Release/Lighting and Sound Controls d) Verify operation of all Notification Appliances e) Verify operation of all Initiating Devices f) Verify all signals received at Central Station (UAHPD) 4) Fire Alarm/Sprinkler (Semi-Annual Flow/Tamper Testing) a) Comply with Functional Testing requirement of NFPA 25 and 72 b) Test all mechanical Waterflow switches and Tamper valves c) Verify proper annunciation and operation at Fire Alarm and signals to Central Station d) Verify operation of Water Bell/Gong 5) Mass Notification (Semi-Annual Testing by Building) TBD a) MNS test to be conducted during Annual FAS test and Semi-Annual Flow/Tamper testing b) Verify operation of speakers and amber strobes throughout building c) Verify proper operation and intelligibility of (7) MNS messages 9 d) Verify restoral of each message at Central Station e) Verify Operation of Live Message operation from dispatch to building f) *MNS Test to be conducted only at buildings with MN capability as noted. 6) Sprinkler, Standpipes, Backflows (Annual) a) Verify proper annunciation and operation at Fire Alarm and signals to Central Station b) Comply with all Functional Testing requirements of NFPA 25 7) Clean Agent Suppression (Semi-Annual) a) comply with all Functional Testing requirements of NFPA 2001 and NFPA 72 b) Semi-Annual check of clean agent system per NFPA 2001 c) Annual inspection of Suppression panel and initiating devices per NFPA 72 8) Kitchen Hoods (Semi-Annual) a) Comply with all Functional Testing requirements of NFPA 17A and 96 b) Verify proper annunciation and operation at Fire Alarm and signals to Central Station 9) Hydrants (Annual) a) Comply with all Functional Testing requirements of NFPA 291 10) Fire Extinguishers (Annual, 3 year, 5 year) a) Comply with all Functional Testing requirements of NFPA 10 b) Document Annual, 3 year, and 5 year testing 11) Emergency Lighting a) 90 Minute functional test of all Emergency Lights per building 12) Fire Pump a) Monthly churn test b) Annual testing requirements of NFPA 10 13) Compliance Fees a) List all compliance fees associated with each inspection per the City of Huntsville's Fire Marshal's compliance engine As mutually agreed upon, the successful Proposer shall be awarded a Contract for one-(1) year, with the option to renew the Contract for four additional one-year periods. The renewals will be under the same terms and conditions if it should be deemed advisable and advantageous to do so. Renewal of this Contract shall be contingent upon annual satisfactory performance evaluations by the University. No Proposal may be amended or withdrawn after the scheduled closing date and time of receipt for a period of sixty (60) days. The University reserves the right to waive any informality and to reject any and all Proposals.
