The Roberts Bank Causeway Shoreline Protection Project ("Project") is located along the north side of the Roberts Bank causeway, approximately 4 kilometres offshore from Delta, BC ("Site"). The Project proposes to rehabilitate approximately 700 m of shoreline that provides a separation of grade between rail tracks and the intertidal zone and currently vulnerable to erosion and damage caused by increase wave exposure during winter storm events. The Project will include, but not be limited to the following: Site preparation including debris cleaning, rock removal and contour grading within the intertidal zone to achieve a desired slope and depth profile. Excavation of the riprap toe trench. Placement of geotextile from the excavated trench to the lock-block wall. Placement of free draining core rock to form a smooth slope face. Placement of a 300 mm thick layer of filter rock. Placement of a 1000 mm thick layer of riprap cover rock. Backfill the excavated material on top of the toe and lower slope. Swale planting, to include preparation and vegetation as shown on the drawings.
