Project Description: The scope of this project includes milling the existing asphalt driveway and parking area pavement to a depth of 3/4". For the parking area south of the existing structure, provide an asphalt overlay to a minimum 1" thickness at the south edge of the paved surface, and a minimum 2" thickness at the north edge of the paved surface (building foundation), providing a 1.0-2.0% slope for positive drainage across the entirety of the paved surface area. Provide an overlay at a minimum 1" thickness across the entirety of the access driveway. Demolish the failed 2"asphalt pavement surrounding the existing helicopter landing pad, compact existing aggregate base material, and provide a 2" asphalt pavement surface of equal design dimensions to the original design in a single lift. The total area of asphalt specified for mill and overlay (asphalt driveway and parking area) is estimated to be 2,300 SY. The total area of asphalt specified for demolition and replacement (helicopter landing pad perimeter) is estimated to be 550 SY. All pavement markings shall be reapplied to match existing conditions, all disturbed areas shall be restored, and all grades adjacent to paved surfaces shall be adjusted to match new paved surface elevations. PROJECT MAGNITUDE: Between $100,000 and $250,000. Work Location: 4.5 Miles Northwest of the Minuteman Missile National Historic Site Visitor Center, 24545 Cottonwood Road, Philip, SD 57567 Period of Performance: The performance period is anticipated to be 90 calendar days, after issuance of Notice to Proceed. TYPE OF CONTRACT: This will be a firm-fixed price contract expected to be awarded to a prime contractor in Summer 2024. Construction Wage Rate Requirements for Pennington County, South Dakota will apply. North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) CODE CLASSIFICATION and SET ASIDE: 237310, Highway, Street, and Bridge Construction. The small business size standard is $45 million. This project is set aside 100 % for Small Business Set Aside Total. SITE VISIT: Will be noted in Solicitation package when posted to SAM.GOV.
