For the purpose of clarification, each firm submitting a Bid is referred to as a "Bidder" and the Bidder awarded the contract to supply the services is referred to as a "Contractor." Virginia Department of Transportation is referred to as "Commonwealth" or "Department" or as "VDOT," and "Representative" refers to the VDOT Contract Administrator who will be administering the contract. This Invitation for Bids states the instructions for submitting bids, the procedure and criteria by which a contract may be awarded, and the contractual terms which will exclusively govern the contract between VDOT and the Contractor. The Contractor shall furnish and deliver one (1) Texas-T Guardrail System. Including: o Texas-T guardrail o Two (2) boxing gloves o Seven (7) Each; W8 x 48 x 1'-1" long (Galvanized and charpy tested) (ASTM A709 Grade 50) no holes o Two (2) Each; W8 x 28 x 4'-0" long (Galvanized and charpy tested) (ASTM A709 Grade 50) no holes o One hundred twenty (120) Each; 7/8" diameter x 2 1/4 " A325 bolts, with nuts and flat washers. (Galvanized) o One hundred twenty (120) Each; Direct tension indicators (DuraSquirt or equivalent as approved by the engineer) (Galvanized) A pre-bid conference will not be held for this solicitation.
