Site work, asbestos abatement and renovation of a detention facility in Fort Worth, Texas. Completed plans call for the renovation of a detention facility; for site work for a detention facility; and for asbestos abatement for a detention facility.
Tarrant County is seeking bids for the removal and disposal of asbestos containing materials associated with terrazzo flooring, caulking at windows and doors, and interior and exterior window glazing at Cold Springs Jail. The abatement is required to prepare the building for select demolition and remodel, which will elevate the level of security of the facility. Bidder must submit pricing for every line item. Award will be All or None. Question Deadline 07/16/2025 at 12:00 PM CT Scope of Work: The asbestos abatement scope of work is for the Cold Springs Jail building located at 1815 Cold Springs Road, Fort Worth, Texas 76196. The building is 60,600 square feet, and the current state of the building is unoccupied. The building consists of; brick veneer, steel & glass windows, interior and exterior CMU block walls, suspended and on-grade reinforced concrete foundations, steel superstructures, open web steel-joist support structures, Gypsum board ceilings, terrazzo flooring, tile and VCT flooring. The abatement scope includes the planned phase II portion of the Cold Springs jail renovation, which is the area in grey on the provided dimensioned drawings. This scope of work shall include all, but not limited to, labor equipment, supervision, removal disposal, and materials necessary to complete the abatement of select building materials referenced in the contract documents. Materials to be removed have tested positive for asbestos containing materials. During the abatement process, the contractor will provide protective measures constructed around the work areas, checkpoints for access to the work areas and air monitoring. Air Monitoring will be done by ERC Environmental & Construction Services, Inc.
