The University of North Florida Board of Trustees, a public body corporate, announces that the services of a Construction Management firm are required to complete HVAC upgrades for nine (9) existing, 3-story, +/-10,000sf student housing buildings in the Building W, X, & Y complexes located on the UNF Main Campus at 1 UNF Drive, Jacksonville, FL 32224. The overall project scope involves HVAC upgrades for nine (9) existing, 3-story, +/-10,000sf student housing buildings in the Building W, X, & Y complexes located on the UNF Main Campus. Building Y's existing 2-pipe system, including chiller, pumps, hydronic accessories, select piping, and fan coil units will be removed and replaced with all new equipment. The new equipment will consist of a new cooling tower, pumps, piping, and water source heat pumps. Building Y has existing DX dedicated outdoor units (DOAS) and a boiler, which will remain. Miscellaneous exterior sealants, firestopping, patch/repair work, and finish repairs will also need to take place. Building W & X's existing 2-pipe system, including chiller, pumps, hydronic accessories, select piping, and fan coil units will be removed and replaced with all new equipment. The new equipment will consist of a new cooling tower, pumps, piping, and water source heat pumps. Building W & X will also receive new DX dedicated outdoor units (DOAS) for outside air and dehumidification, as well as new rooftop exhaust fans. The existing boiler is proposed to remain. New HVAC systems and exhaust fans will be tied into the existing DDC system. New interior drywall soffits in each dorm room, miscellaneous exterior sealants, firestopping, patch/repair work, and finish repairs will also need to take place. This contract will commence upon UNF's issuance of a Notice to Proceed (NTP). The selected Contractor shall develop and submit a GMP to UNF's Project Manager (PM) within thirty (30) calendar days of the NTP. Substantial Completion shall be achieved within 335 days of commencement and Final Completion shall be achieved within 30 calendar days of Substantial Completion. Payment and Performance Bonds will be required with the submission of a Guaranteed Maximum Price. Liquidated Damages Liquidated damages shall be assessed in the amount of $500 for each and every calendar day elapsing between the date fixed for Substantial Completion and the date Substantial Completion shall have been fully accomplished. The Contract, if any, may be awarded to that responsible firm(s) who financially and professionally can provide the requested services conforming to the solicitation and which will be most advantageous to the University of North Florida. The University of North Florida reserves the unqualified right to reject any or all proposals and to waive information and minor irregularities in proposals received. The right is reserved to accept a proposal which, after review by the University committee, is considered most advantageous to the University.
