Carteret County Government is soliciting competitive proposals to replace the roof and gable siding at the Western Carteret Public Library Roofing o Remove and dispose of all shingle roofing to the deck, install synthetic underlayment, ice and water in valleys, new ridge vents, flashing, white aluminum drip edge, new pipe boots, and other accessories as necessary. o Include ten (10) pieces of sheathing to match existing thickness, installed, in the proposal which is anticipated to be replaced. Adding or sister studs shall be included, as required. o Install architectural grade asphalt shingles, starters, and ridge cap rated for 130 MPH wind resistance or greater. Shingles shall be fastened with a minimum of six (6) hot dipped galvanized nails per shingle. o The Contractor shall include shingle specification and color submittals with their proposal. Siding o Carefully remove and dispose of the gable siding and associated trim. o Include four (4) pieces of sheathing to match existing thickness, installed, in the proposal which is anticipated to be replaced. Adding or sister studs shall be included, as required. o New house wrap, appropriate insulation, flashing, new straight edge fiber cement shingle siding (to match existing characteristics), and PVC trim shall be installed on all three sides of the gable. o Reuse the existing front circular vent, lighting fixture, and signage, if permissible. If these items are not able to be saved and reused, the Contractor shall furnish and replace to closely match. o The new siding shall be painted to match the buildings existing gray color using appropriate exterior paint. o Work shall be scheduled in coordination with the County POC. It is preferred that all work to be completed within four (4) consecutive calendar days. o The Contractor shall secure the work area with signage and barricades as needed. Cleaning and Miscellaneous o The Contractor shall provide all necessary labor, materials, Safety Data Sheets (SDS), equipment, and a competent supervisor to oversee and direct work as outlined in these documents. o Ensure the protection of all County property, including but not limited to landscaping, HVAC, parking lot, sidewalks, and other building components. o All associated debris shall be cleaned and hauled off at the end of each working day. Use magnet to ensure all nails are removed. All cleaning equipment shall be provided by the Contractor. o The Contractor shall verify all measurements and material quantities. o All new material shall be installed per the manufacture's recommendations and instructions. o All new materials are subject to approval by Carteret County. o Any damages caused by the Contractor shall be the Contractor's responsibility to fix or replace at the County's discretion. o The Contractor shall provide and submit all warranty information on the County's behalf. o The awarded Contractor shall enter into a Contract with the County, adhering to the Terms and Conditions and Agreement for Services within. o The Contractor shall obtain the required permits, if required, give all notices to the County POC (including a copy of any permits), and comply with all laws, ordinances, codes, rules and regulations bearing on the conduct of the work. Permits shall be posted onsite at the project location. No time extensions shall be granted or financial consideration given to the Contractor for time or monies lost due to violations of any such ordinance, code, law or regulations that may occur.
