Site work and renovation of a detention facility in Tallahassee, Florida. Completed plans call for the renovation of a detention facility; and for site work for a detention facility.
Leon County is seeking the services of a qualified vendor, licensed by the State of Florida as a General Contractor, to renovate two (2) exterior emergency egress staircases located at the housing pods along the west perimeter fence. The renovation shall include, demolition of the existing stair treads, rusted steel framing components, concrete stair landings and steel decks, catwalk roofing and steel roof decks. Replace all demolished materials an components per the Construction Drawings and prepare and repaint all metal components that remained in place. Re-sod all disturbed grass areas. All vendor staff working on-site are required to have a background check prior to being granted access to the facility. The required forms that will need to completed. The Leon County Sheriff's Office Construction Contractor Orientation Manual can be found in the Detention Center Specifications- Attachment G. Bids shall be accompanied by a 5% bid guarantee which shall be a Bid Bond, Certified or Cashier's Check or Bank Draft (no cash, company, or personal checks will be accepted), made payable to the Board of County Commissioners, Leon County, Florida. Such check, bank draft, or bond shall be submitted with the understanding that the bonds will be held until award of bid. A Combination Payment and Performance Bond in the amount of 100% of the estimated project cost shall be supplied by the Contractor at the time of Agreement execution. Payment and Performance Bonds shall provide that, in the event of non-performance on the part of the Contractor the bond can be presented for honor and acceptance at an authorized representative or institution located in Tallahassee, Florida. Payment bonds executed as a result of the requirements herein by a surety shall make reference to Section 255.05, Florida Statutes, by number and shall contain reference to the notice and time limitation provisions in Section 255.05, Florida Statutes. The MWSBE Division will deem responses responsive to the MWBE Section of the solicitation if they include a completed MWBE Participation Plan and/or Good Faith Effort documentation. Please complete an MWBE Participation Plan Form, include the MBE and WBE firms on your Respondent and Team Summary Form, and, if you are unable to meet the project specific goal, complete a Good Faith Effort Form. Failure to provide all MWBE Section Forms in bid submission will result in the bid being deemed nonresponsive. Certified MBE/WBE Participation Project Specific Goal: 12% Aggregate Question Deadline 07/25/2025 at 4:00 PM ET Questions may be submitted directly through online. The County reserves the right to hold the Bid Guarantee until after a contract has been entered into or a purchase order has been executed. The accepted Bidders bid bond will be held until execution of the agreement and may be forfeited due to non- performance. The County reserves the right to reject all bids when such rejection is in the best interest of the County. Pre bid meeting notes : The Detention Facility is a secure facility. All contractors will be required to sign in. Please bring ID. No cell phones, knives, tools, or weapons will be allowed inside the facility. Contractors may bring pens, pencils, notebooks or note pads.
