Site work, new construction and renovation of a mixed-use development in Chesapeake, Virginia. Conceptual plans call for the construction of a playground / park / athletic field; for site work for a playground / park / athletic field; and for the renovation of a playground / park / athletic field.

This project funds the construction of three pre-engineered buildings to replace the current maintenance shop, office, and storage areas. Construction will also replace interior restrooms, shower, and HVAC systems, and will include sheltered storage for rental equipment. This project funds replacement of outdated components and renovates and expands the spaces to meet current standards and equipment needs. Renovation will ensure more efficient, safe, and adequate working conditions; better security of high-value equipment; and shelter from exposure to outdoor elements. This project will replace the current maintenance building, heighten to above flooding levels, ensure room to store rental boats and kayaks, etc., and computers stations for staff. By improving these facilities, recreational amenities at Northwest River Park will be better maintained. As such, this project aligns with the strategic anchor of providing outstanding service to our community, customers and each other. The project is included in the City's 2026-2030 Capital Improvement Program (CIP). As of July 14, 2025, project is funded for construction in FY2027. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP).
