**As of September 10, 2025, the project was awarded to Homestead Services, with an awarded amount of $680,461.93** Sidewalk Improvements along Matthews Branch for a total project length of 1.16 miles The work shall consist essentially of the following items: Construction of a new sidewalk with road crossings and drainage improvements. All other related items of work required to complete the project as shown and specified in the Contract Documents. The City of Petal of Forrest County hereby notifies all Bidders that it will affirmatively insure that in any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, disadvantaged and women's business enterprises will be afforded the full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, sex, age, disability, religion or national origin in consideration for an award. Each bid shall be accompanied by a Cashier's check, Certified Check on a solvent bank or a Bidder's Bond issued by a Surety Company licensed to operate in the State of Mississippi, in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total bid price, payable to the City of Petal as bid security. Bidders shall also submit a current financial statement, if requested by the County.
