This project involves the rehabilitation and reconstruction of approximately 6.9 miles of paved (asphalt) access road to the Paso Robles Long Range Radar site. Work begins at the Forest Service boundary at milepost 0.3 and ends at the FAA radar site gate at approximately milepost 7.22. The scope includes a 4-inch full depth reclamation of the roadway pavement followed by a 2-inch asphalt overlay. Additional work includes cleaning or replacing damaged or missing drainage flumes, cleaning culverts, adding embankment material to eroded areas, and installing delineators and object markers. Roadway cross slopes will be reconstructed to closely match existing conditions, with minor adjustments to direct runoff to new drainage flume locations. Traffic control measures will be implemented to maintain access to radar and communication sites during construction. Location: Black Mountain Road (Forest Service Roads 29S02 and 29S10), providing access to the Paso Robles California Air Route Surveillance Radar (ARSR) site, near Paso Robles, California.
