Project is no longer needed.** The Ayer Department of Public Works (DPW), the Awarding Authority, invites sealed bids from qualified contractors for the rehabilitation of the two (2) Tertiary Filter Tanks in the Ayer Wastewater Treatment Plant for the Ayer DPW in Ayer, Massachusetts, in accordance with the documents prepared by the Ayer DPW. The project is located at the Wastewater Treatment Plant, 25 Brook Street in Ayer. All work shall be substantially complete within 90 consecutive calendar days of the date fixed in the Notice to Proceed and fully completed within 120 consecutive calendar days of the date fixed in the Notice to Proceed. The Owner reserves the right to waive any informality in or to reject any or all Bids if deemed to be in its best interest. The successful bidder shall provide a list of labor and materials needed to complete the following work in the Ayer Wastewater Treatment Plant. Rehabilitate the two (2) Tertiary Filter Tanks. Power wash the tanks to remove soluble contaminants which are detrimental to the adhesion of the new coating system. Apply two (2) coats of appropriate coating to protect the tanks from further corrosion. The WWTP must remain in operation through out the process, so only one (1) tank can be worked on at a time. MBE or WBE has at least a twenty-five percent (25%) The work involves rehabilitation of the two (2) existing tertiary filter tanks at the Town of Ayer Wastewater Treatment Plant. The Wastewater Treatment Plant must remain operational throughout the process so only one tank can be worked on at one time. The interior existing equipment will be removed prior to work starting by the Owner. The Contractor will prepare the tanks for new coatings. Power wash the tanks to remove soluble contaminants which are detrimental to the adhesion of the new coating system. Achieve near white blast for recommended cleanliness profile. Apply two (2) coats of Dura-plate UHS @ 12 MILS dft or equivalent. Patching and welding is not part of this scope. If patching or welding is needed, a change order will be required. See Appendix A for Tertiary Filter Tank drawings.
