City of Port Allen under HUD Part 58 has determined that the following proposed action under the FY2025 Louisiana Community Development Block Grant Public Facilities Program is located in 100 year floodplain and wetlands areas, and the City will be identifying and evaluating practicable alternatives to locating the action in the floodplain/wetlands and the potential impacts on the floodplain/wetlands from the proposed action, as required by Executive Order 11988 and 11990, in accordance with HUD regulations at 24 CFR 55.20 Subpart C Procedures for Making Determinations on Floodplain Management and Protection of Wetlands. The City received a grant award through the Office of Community Development in the amount of $1,117,906.00 for sewer system rehabilitation improvements. The project is not site specific and is defined within a Target Area portion of the City. The project area encompasses the majority of the City (on both east/west sides of LA Hwy 1 and from Commercial Drive to Rosedale Road) and consists of sewer point repairs (various sizes and depths), CIPP pipe lining, service pipe repair, smoke testing, manhole inspection, and CCTV for leak identification, lining (or rebuilding) manholes, as well as other miscellaneous work. All construction will be on existing property where infrastructure currently exists.
