Joplin Schools is soliciting sealed bids for asphalt crack sealing, sealcoat & striping at various locations. The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time. This project shall include areas outlined in the attached aerial photos. Bids include all materials, labor and any other costs necessary to complete work as described below: JOPLIN SCHOOLS ASPHALT- CRACK SEALING, SEALCOAT AND STRIPING EAST MIDDLE SCHOOL/SOARING HEIGHTS ELEMENTARY Bid: East Middle School/Soaring Heights Elementary-Clean, crack seal, seal coat and stripe all highlighted areas in attached photograph. Project Specifications: o Contractors must also provide valid proof of general liability insurance coverage in the amount of $2,000,000.00 for applicable projects. (C) Parking lot surfaces shall be cleaned and free of any standing water and foreign materials by contractor immediately prior to seal coat application. (C) Cleaning is to be done per the sealcoat manufacturer for product application and longevity. o Crack Seal o All cracks greater than 'A" should be crack sealed. o All cracks are to be free of all vegetation, dust and debris all the way to the bottom ofthe crack o All cracks MUST be dry to ensure proper adhesion ofthe sealant material o All cracks should be cleaned using hot compressed air or a crack router to maximize adhesion ofthe sealant (C) Refined Tar Emulsion sealcoat has been chosen as the acceptable product to be used for this project. Project is based on the use of Black Diamond Pavement Sealer or equivalent. Sealcoat is to be used at a minimum rate of .22 - .28 gallons per square yards with a minimum of 2 coats. Product must be mixed and applied per manufacturers recommendations (C) Cleaned cracks shall be filled with hot applied rubber asphalt crack sealer. Project is based on the use of Right Point Crack Sealant or approved equivalent Crafco Asphalt Rubber 233 or NuvoCS o All existing pavement markings, fire lanes and parking striping within the project area will be repainted as they currently exist with a quick drying traffic rated paint applied in a minimum oftwo coats. o Provide documentation on brand and specifications ofproposed crack sealant and sealcoating with the bid. o Submittals on all products must be submitted and approved before commencing work.
