Bids are invited for severalitems and quantities of work asfollows: 1. Replacement of existingstorm sewer road crossingsand driveway culverts, existingroadside ditch cleaning and regrading. A bid bond in the amount of 5percent of the bid issued by anacceptable surety shall be submitted with each bid. A certifiedcheck or bank draft payable tothe Orange County or negotiable U.S. Government Bonds (aspar value) may be submitted inlieu of the Bid Bond. Attentionis called to the fact that not lessthan, the federally determinedprevailing (Davis-Bacon andRelated Acts) wage rate, as issued by the U.S. Department ofLabor and contained in the contract documents, must be paidon this project. In addition, thesuccessful bidder must ensurethat employees and applicantsfor employment are not discriminated against because of race,color, religion, sex, sexual identity, gender identity, or nationalorigin. The County of Orange, Texasreserves the right to reject anyor all bids or to waive any informalities in the bidding. Bids may be held by OrangeCounty for a period not to exceed 30 / 60 days from the dateof the bid opening for the purpose of reviewing the bids andinvestigating the bidder's qualifications prior to the contractaward. All contractors/subcontractorsthat are debarred, suspended orotherwise excluded from or ineligible for participation on federalassistance programs may notundertake any activity in part orin full under this project.
