The new barn will be of wood framed construction with girder trusses (delegated design), wood beams and wood framed construction with a cast in place concrete foundations and footers. A portion of the barn envelope will be fully conditioned to meet MA 2025 Stretch Energy Code & Specialized Opt-In Code requirements Project also includes civil site improvements, including parking and site access and landscape improvements. A new slab on grade, set between the new barn and existing carriage house will be included to facilitate year round events. The existing grain silo adjacent to the proposed barn will require underpinning evaluation, design, and construction prior to excavation for new foundations (no excavation shall be made until underpinning is complete). The grain silo will also have remediation work done as noted on the structural documentation. Supporting MEP/FP infrastructure and supporting scope will be provided at the barn as outlined in drawings & specifications.
