The project is expected to be awarded on October 14th, 2025.** construction of City of Lafayette, Lafayette Town Center Pathway & BART Bike Station Project, Project No. 014-9721, including, but not limited to, the construction of a bike station, paver roundabout, asphalt concrete overlay, and paver ramp and railing at the east end of the southern parking lot of the Lafayette BART Station. Work generally includes, but is not limited to, mobilization, pedestrian and traffic control; construction and special signage; potholing utilities; clearing and grubbing including tree protection, tree and shrub trimming and removal; removal and disposal of concrete curb ramp, curb, gutter, sidewalk, stairs, removal and cold-planing of asphalt concrete pavement; excavating, grading and compacting pavement subgrade and base materials; construction of concrete foundations, CIDH concrete piling foundation; construction of curb, gutter, storm drain system, lighting system, service pedestal, bike station; installation of various types of pavers, asphalt concrete overlay, landscape planting and irrigation system, bollards, guardrail with handrail, colored thermoplastic pavement, pavement stencil; traffic signs, stripes, markers, and markings; adjustment of utility covers and all other related miscellaneous work as shown on the Plans and as described in the Specifications to provide a complete project. The bike station shall include a new cardkey and mobile app-entry, self-serve Bike Station, providing secure and sheltered parking for up to 82 bicycles at the south entrance to the Lafayette BART station. The structure consists of a concrete foundation and slab supporting a steel beam structure clad with perforated steel and glass paneled walls and a standing-seam metal roof. The BART's standard BikeLink computerized kiosk will be used to control entry. Three types of prefabricated racks will be installed inside the station for patron use: double-decker lift-assisted racks, vertical hanging racks, and standard surface-mounted inverted-U-style racks. Pursuant to Section 7028.15 of the Business and Professions Code and Section 3300 of the Public Contract Code, all bidders must possess proper licenses for performance of this Contract. The Contractor shall possess a Class "A" license at the time this contract is awarded. Joint ventures must secure a joint venture license prior to award of this Contract. Subcontractors shall possess the appropriate license for the work of their respective trades. Bidder's attention is directed to requirements in Sections 2 and 3 of the Standard Specifications General Provisions. All bids shall be accompanied by a cashier's or certified check, or a bidder's bond executed by a corporate surety insurer. The bidder's guarantee shall be in the amount equal to at least ten (10) percent of the total bid and shall be made payable to the City of Lafayette. The successful bidder shall furnish a payment bond and a performance bond. The City Council has ascertained the General Prevailing Rates of Wages applicable to this work, and these rates are on file in the office of the City of Lafayette Engineering Services Division.
