Anticipated letting Year is 2025. The purpose of the Chadwick Island Bridge project is to restore the structural, geometric and operational integrity of the bridge in compliance with current design standards and to provide a safe, efficient and reliable crossing for all modes of transportation. The existing structurally deficient all timber bridge was originally constructed in the early 1950's as part of the original development of the island community. In 1985 the bridge superstructure was replaced to prolong its service life. The current issues with the existing timber bridge include, moderate to severe deterioration /section loss of load bearing piles, deterioration of substructure cross bracing, deterioration and misalignment of timber deck boards and hardware and inadequate roadway width for vehicular traffic. This is a bridge replacement project. *Project information has been obtained through a public state transportation improvement plan (STIP).
