The scope of the project includes furnishing all plant, labor, material, machinery, equipment and all necessary appurtenances and for performing all work required for the construction of the Project. Major items include 6,970-LF 16-inch AWWA C900 (DR 18) PVC water line by open cut, 100-LF 16-inch AWWA C900 (DR 18) PVC water line w/30-inch steel encasement by bore, 20 Ea. 16-inch gate valves, 13 ea. Fire hydrant assemblies, and miscellaneous other appurtenances. Proposals shall be accompanied by a cashier's or certified check upon a national or state bank in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the total maximum bid price, payable without recourse to the City of Royse City, or a bid bond in the same amount from an approved surety company holding a permit from the State of Texas to act as surety, as a guarantee that the bidder will enter into a contract and execute performance bond and payment bond within ten (10) days after being notified of award of contract. The Owner intends to provide a notice of award of contract within sixty (60) days following the bid opening. Bids without required check or bid bond will be rejected The successful bidder must furnish performance bond upon the form provided in the amount of 100% of the contract price; a material and labor payment bond upon the form provided in the amount of 100% of the contract price; and a maintenance bond in the amount of 50% of the contract amount for a period of two (2) years from an approved surety company holding a permit from the State of Texas to act as surety or other sureties acceptable to the City of Royse City. Should the bidder fail to produce evidence satisfactory to the Royse City on any of the foregoing points, the bidder may be disqualified, and the work awarded to the next responsible bidder so qualifying. The City of Royse City reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any informality in the bids received. In case of ambiguity or lack of clearness in stating prices in the bids, the City reserves the right to consider the most advantageous construction thereof, or to reject the bid.
