The dam is located on the Cache River at the outlet of Lake Tremblant in the Laurentians. Lake Tremblant, which covers an area of 9.26 to 9.65 km2, is located in the Laurentides Regional County Municipality (RCM). The shores of the lake are bordered by numerous residences, holiday homes and tourist facilities, including the Tremblant Resort. The Lac Tremblant dam (X0005385) is owned by the city of Mont-Tremblant. Major refurbishment work was undertaken on the dam in 2016, following the dam safety assessment carried out in 2013. The work involved repairing a leak at the old water intake and stabilizing the dam's spillway and gate. Several lakefront residents have informed the Ville de Mont-Tremblant of an increase in the lake's water level. The Ville wishes to consider the possibility of controlling the water level using the truss gate to prevent the lake levels from rising. BBA has been commissioned to prepare a water management plan for the dam on Lake Tremblant. The main objective of this study is to carry out hydrological and hydraulic analyses to assess the possible effects of modifying the level of the Lac Tremblant dam and, consequently, to prepare a water management plan for the lake.
