The project involves repairing a sewer line at the Metropolitan Correctional Center (MCC) Chicago. The scope includes replacing approximately 75 linear feet of existing 8-inch clay sewer line with 8-inch by 8-inch heavy cast iron pipe. The work will be conducted in a secured, GSA-operated courtyard and requires precise utility locating, excavation to a depth of 6 feet, trench shoring, and protective barricades. All pavers and landscaping materials will be removed and restored to their original condition upon completion. The sewer system must be tested and backfilled after successful installation. Work must be performed with minimal downtime, and MCC will coordinate institutional water shutdown and restoration. All work must comply with local, state, and federal regulations. Contractors are required to attend a pre-work meeting to coordinate with on-site staff prior to beginning work. The performance period is 38 calendar days from the issuance of the notice to proceed.
