The Project consists of the following work: Construction of a new 10-inch diameter x 275 ft well with 200 gpm pumping apparatus to replace the existing well. Work shall be constructed in two phases with the first phase consisting of well drilling, sampling and testing and the second phase consisting of final well completion. The second phase cannot proceed without TDEC approval of the first phase. The Work is to be performed by one construction contract and divided into two distinct phases: 1. Phase 1 a. Submission of a Notice of Intent (NOI) to TDEC for construction of a new water well for public water consumption. b. Construction and development of a 275 VF 10-inch diameter well as shown on the plans and specified herein including development of the well, determination of the static water level, test pumping, develop drawdown data and recovery data. c. Phase 1 will include collection of a complete water sample analysis. d. Data shall be submitted to TDEC for review and consideration. Upon receipt of TDEC approval, Phase 2 can commence. 2. Phase 2 (Note: Phase 1 must be approved by TDEC prior to proceeding with Phase 2 construction. a. Final Pump Installation b. Electrical work associated with power and control of well operation. c. Construction of approximately 470 LF of 6-inch water line to connect new well to existing water treatment plant facilities. d. Submission of final well documentation to TDEC if the scope provided for bidding purposes differs from final construction. Bids will be received for a single prime Contract. Bids shall be on a unit price basis as indicated in the Bid Form. There will not be a Pre-Bid Conference for this project. This project is being supported with Treasury, Coronavirus State and Local Recovery Fund grant funding. Therefore, certain restrictions and other federal requirements attached to this opportunity. A bid bond or certified check for five percent (5%) of the total bid amount must accompany each bid. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a performance bond in the amount of his bid and shall, before entering on the work of said contract, be licensed as a contractor of the Town of Mason.
