Improvements include excavation for a retention/detention pond, including new 72" RCP storm sewer with end sections and cast-in-place energy dissipation structure. This project includes the removal/abandonment of +/-375 L.F. of 72" storm sewer. Excess material will be taken off site and spread per the off site grading exhibit. Each proposal must be accompanied by the contractor's certificate of eligibility, a certified check, cashiers check, or bid bond, payable to the City of Belvidere for the amount not less than five percent (5%) of the total amount of the proposal All bidders shall note the following: (1) construction monies will be drawn from local City of Belvidere funds and an IEPA GIGO Grant; (2) the successful contractor will be paid on a monthly basis according to the approved estimate of completed work; (3) the City strongly urges all contractors to employ the use of local subcontractors, suppliers, and trades as much as possible for this contract Labor rates shall be in accordance with the General Prevailing Rate of Wages for the City of Belvidere, Boone County, Illinois, and which are on file in the Office of the Department of Labor, Springfield, Illinois. Such rates shall be paid for all laborers, workman, or tradesman performing work under this contract. DBE and Illinois Works Apprentice Initiative are part of this project. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids on each proposal, and to waive any information therein or to accept any proposal considered in the best interest of the City. No bid shall be withdrawn after the opening of bids without written consent of the City of Belvidere for a period of forty-five (45) days after the scheduled time of opening of bids.
