The Town of Hollis Department of Public Works is accepting bids for 2000 tons/cubic yards (approximately 1,481 cubic yards) of winter sand. Sand will be screened no larger than 3/8". Sand must have an ample amount of stone and grit and very little if any silt and clay. All bids must include a sand sample and be free of foreign material and debris. Bids should be per ton/cubic yards delivered price to 10 Muzzey Road, Hollis, NH. For the purposes of calculating and awarding this bid specification, a comparative formula of one cubic yard of sand equals 1.35 ton. The initial delivery of approximately 2000 tons/cubic yards screened sand shall be fulfilled at the Public Works Garage Mondays through Thursdays between 6:30 am and 3 p.m. and Fridays 6:30am and 10:00am. Availability is expected throughout the winter for material being ordered and delivered as directed by the Director of Public Works. The Director of Public Works or his designated representative will notify the vendor a minimum of 72 hours prior to expected delivery of additional material. Bid will be awarded based on lowest delivered price on the best product with guaranteed delivery. The Town of Hollis reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids, to waive any formalities or to accept the bid which the Town of Hollis deems to be in the best interest of the town. The Town of Hollis reserves the right to cancel any unfilled portion of the contract providing that in the opinion of the Director of Public Works, the services of material provided by the contractor are unsatisfactory or not consistent with the terms of the contract. The Town of Hollis reserves the right to adjust amount of sand tonnage/cubic yards to conform with budget allotment. The following must be on file prior to work beginning: A current endorsed Certificate of Insurance with The Town of Hollis added as an additional insured. This certificate is to include Employer's Liability and Workman's Compensation, if applicable, and be on file before work begins.
