The purpose of the new Caron Transmission Main is to supply drinking water to future growth areas. The scope of work is to install approximately 10 km of 450 mm diameter watermain via Open Cut and Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD). The alignment starts at the Caron Booster Station and goes South along Caron St. to Baseline Rd, East along Baseline Rd. to Bouvier Rd, and south along Bouvier Rd. to the Bouvier Water Tower. HDD will be completed for culvert crossings in various sections while the remaining watermain will be constructed using open cut method. No modifications to the culverts will occur in this project and no water services will be connected to this transmission main as its purpose is as a dedicated transmission main, not for local distribution. The purpose of the new Edwards Transmission Main is to supply drinking water to future growth areas. The scope of work is to install approximately 600 m of 600 mm diameter watermain via Open Cut method. The alignment starts at the Rockland Water Treatment Plant and goes South along Edwards St. to just North of County Rd. 17. No water services will be connected to this transmission main as its purpose is as a dedicated transmission main, not for local distribution. The schedule for this project is as follows: Construction contract must be awarded by September 30, 2025. The work must be substantially completed by January 5, 2027.
