Asbestos/Abatement Direct all inquiries concerning this RFQ to: Tyeshia Smith Procurement Specialist Email: tmsmith23@ncat.edu Questions Due Date: Aug 7th 2025, 3:00 PM EDT North Carolina A&T State University is initiating a multi-phase redevelopment effort in the Bluford and Lindsay neighborhood, located adjacent to the University's main campus in Greensboro, North Carolina. This area includes a number of residential structures that have been acquired by the University for long-term campus planning and revitalization efforts. This initial project phase involves the asbestos abatement and demolition of approximately twelve (12) residential properties. Several of these structures contain asbestos-containing materials (ACMs), which must be removed in compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations prior to demolition. The University seeks to engage a licensed asbestos abatement contractor to provide turnkey services including abatement, air quality clearance, and demolition. The scope of this solicitation also anticipates potential future phases of work within the same neighborhood and surrounding areas. Additional properties may be added to the project scope over time, and the selected contractor may be asked to provide ongoing abatement and demolition services under the terms of this agreement, contingent upon funding and project needs. This work supports the University's goals of improving safety, eliminating environmental hazards, and preparing the area for future infrastructure and campus Commodity No. and Description: 76101602 Asbestos removal The selected contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, equipment, supervision, permits, and services necessary to perform the following tasks: 1. Asbestos Abatement o Legally remove all asbestos-containing materials (ACMs) from each structure as identified in Exhibit A. o All removal work must comply with local, state, and federal regulations, including but not limited to EPA, OSHA, and NESHAP standards. o Proper handling, transport, and disposal of asbestos material at a licensed disposal facility. 2. Air Quality Testing o Provide third-party air quality testing and clearance reports for each location following abatement. o All clearance testing must meet regulatory standards prior to demolition activities. 3. Demolition o Following successful asbestos abatement and air clearance, structures may be demolished in accordance with local codes and ordinances. o The contractor is responsible for securing all required demolition permits. 4. Site Safety and Security o Maintain a safe and secure work site at all times. o Contractor is responsible for securing the houses and surrounding areas upon completion of each phase. 5. Permits and Notifications o Obtain and pay for all necessary permits, inspections, and notifications required for abatement and demolition activities.
