Renovation of a detention facility in Canon City, Colorado. Completed plans call for the renovation of a detention facility.
Reference Number 0000393713 Freezer #1, Freezer #2, and Freezer #3/Cooler #5 refrigeration systems have been replaced in previous phases. Replace kitchen refrigeration systems for Coolers #1,2,3,4,6,7,8 and the blast chillers as a continuation of the completed phases in three additional phases (3, 4, & 5) to allow for continued operations and minimal operational disruptions. The State of Colorado, CDOC/FCF is soliciting bids from qualified contractors for the Replace Kitchen Refrigeration System, Fremont Correctional Facility (FCF) project. We do not accept questions via VSS or online, only emailed questions will be answered. The State reserves the right to reject any or all proposals on the basis of being unresponsive to this AFB or for failure to disclose requested information. All new equipment shall include extended compressor, condenser, and leak warranties as specified on the project documents. Phase 3: After installation of the replacement condensing unit KCO-4 and refrigerant piping, replace kitchen evaporators to include controls and condensate drains for KEV 10, KEV-8, KEV-9, & KEV-11 in sequence to minimize operational cooler(s) down time. Remove demolished refrigerant piping, insulation, fittings, controls and supports. Lawfully recover and reclaim existing refrigerants in strict accordance with EPA regulations 40 CFR 82 F under section 608 of the clean air act. After commissioning the replacement condensing unit KCO-7 replace kitchen evaporator KEV-7 to include refrigerant piping, controls, and condensate drains. Provide cooler #7 with a refrigerant leak detector with visual and audible alarms. Remove refrigerant compressors KC-7, KC-8, KC-9, KC-10, KC-11 and associated racks, refrigerant piping, insulation, fittings, controls, supports, and kco-2 associated with the removed compressors. Lawfully recover and reclaim existing refrigerants in strict accordance with EPA regulations 40 CFR 82 F under section 608 of the clean air act. Phase 4: Replace cooler #8 refrigeration system, KEV-12 & KCO-12. Remove demolished refrigerant piping, insulation, fittings, controls, condensate drains, and lawfully recover and reclaim existing refrigerants in strict accordance with EPA regulations 40 CFR 82 F under section 608 of the clean air act. Phase 5: Remove and reconfigure cooler #6 refrigeration system, KEV-13 & KCO-13. Remove demolished refrigerant piping, insulation, fittings, controls, condensate drains, and lawfully recover and reclaim existing refrigerants in strict accordance with EPA regulations 40 CFR 82 F under section 608 of the clean air act. Reconnect to the existing condensate pump. Replace blast chillers condensing unit, piping, insulation, fittings, and integrate controls with the existing blast chillers evaporators and control panel. The scope of services will include full Construction Contracting Services for the project specified during the process of construction and warranty period to the State as per the Advertisement for Bid. Specific tasks to be performed by the Contractor include those generally performed by the construction community where the Contractor is the prime vendor to the State. Bidders shall reference the drawings, specifications, and supporting documents in the Appendices for an understanding of the entire scope of the project. Per C.R.S. _38-26-106, if a contract amounts to $150,000 or more, the awarded contractor shall provide payment and performance bonds not less than 50% of the value of the contract. The costs associated with this bond are to be included in the contractor's bid.
