Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Haverhill, Massachusetts. Completed plans call for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot; for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot; and water / sewer project.

The overall scope of work includes the demolition and reconfiguration of an existing site and utilities, for the construction of a new retaining wall, above ground fuel tank, and asphalt parking. The area is approximately 13,000 SF. This project is a revision of one that was previously released and cancelled due unknown conditions which caused inflated bids. Test pits were done and now the conditions are known. Scope was also reduced. Demolition is planned for the existing site, including a portion of the hill along the southwest property line and a relatively flat area along the southwest elevation of the Bus Wash building. This project includes the removal of an existing 20,000 gallon underground diesel fuel tank and the removal of approximately 230 cubic yards of sound bedrock. The proposed new retaining wall is 320 linear feet and consists of soldier piles and lagging and with castin-place concrete facing. The concrete facing will utilize a form liner for the exterior face finish surface. The elevation at the bottom of the retaining wall will be excavated to accommodate the new retaining wall and fuel tank. Construction in this area will provide an asphalt parking surface that utilizes existing drainage and requires a new subsurface detention area to be formed.
