Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Martinez, California. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; sidewalk / parking lot; and water / sewer project.

Description of Work: In general, the work includes the water main and service replacements at various locations in the City of Martinez. The work includes, but is not limited to the following: Replacing approximately 4,700 linear feet of water main to address undersized, aging, and deteriorating pipelines to minimize failures and improve fire flows. The project consists of water main replacement including valves and fire hydrants, tie-in of new mains to existing mains, replacement of service laterals up to existing water meters, blow-offs, air release valves, fittings, and associated appurtenances. The project also includes removing and replacing curb ramps, miscellaneous sidewalk improvements, subdrain pipe improvements, pavement rehabilitation, and striping restoration. Engineer's Estimate Bid Schedule A: $3,250,000 Bid Schedule B: $250,000 Grand Total: $3,500,000 There is no pre-bid meeting for this work; however, contractors are strongly encouraged to visit all sites in advance of the bid to familiarize themselves with the nature of the existing conditions. A certified check or bid bond for not less than ten percent (10%) of the proposal shall be submitted with each bid as a guarantee that the bidder, if awarded the Contract, will fulfill the terms of the bid. Bidders are hereby notified that provisions of the Labor Code of the State of California, regarding the prevailing wages shall be applicable to the work to be performed under this contract. Pursuant to Labor Code Section 1773 the general prevailing wage rates have been determined by the Director of the California Department of Industrial Relations and appear in the California Prevailing Wage Rates, copies of which are on file with the City Clerk of the City of Martinez and are available to interested parties for review on request. Future effective wage rates which have been predetermined and are on file with the California Department of Industrial Relations are referenced but are not printed in such publication. Pursuant to Labor Code Section 1771.4, bidders are hereby notified that the project is subject to compliance monitoring and enforcement by the California Department of Industrial Relations. The City of Martinez reserves the right to refuse any or all proposals or bids or portions thereof. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids, or to accept only a portion of certain items of the bid or to waive any informalities in the bid. ** Bid date info : Bids shall be dropped off and timestamped at first floor entrance of City Offices, Engineering Counter, at City Hall. City Hall is open between the hours of 8:00 A.M. and 12:00 P.M., and 1:00 P.M. and 4:30 P.M. Monday through Friday excluding Holidays.
