Site work for a water / sewer project in Des Moines, Iowa. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
Provide materials, equipment, and labor necessary, including excavation, installation, backfill, testing, surface restoration, cleanup, and miscellaneous associated work, to complete installation of approximately 20 feet of 6-inch ductile iron water main, 20 feet of 8-inch polyvinyl chloride water main, 1,956 feet of 8-inch ductile iron water main, 1,973 feet of 12-inch polyvinyl chloride water main, connect to existing mains, install appurtenances and water service transfers, disconnect mains to be abandoned, and remove old surface facilities. A. Installation of new water main for Base Bid 1 as follows: 1. NW 2 nd Avenue from existing hydrant at Sta 200+14 (5738 NW 2 nd Street) to NW 60 th Ave. 2. Install new main to allow customers to switch from private water mains to the new main in the future. B. Replacement of existing water main for Base Bid 2 as follows: 1. NW 49 th Place from NW 6 th Drive to connection east of Ryder Truck Rental at Sta 119+50. 2. Replace water main that has reached the end of its useful life. 3. New water main route was selected to maintain a maximum horizontal distance from MidAmerican 24-inch steel, high pressure gas transmission main that serves a wide area of customers. FORM A.
