Genesys Engineering, P.C. (Genesys), as agent for the Dormitory Authority State of New York (DASNY), is seeking qualifications information from firms that would like to participate in a future Bid Solicitation, as the Prime Contractor, for the construction of a project that involves Energy Upgrades at Medgar Evers College. All interested contractors shall submit a Statement of Qualification and NYS Vendor Responsibility Questionnaire ("VRQ"). Information submitted will be evaluated in order to develop a list of pre-Qualified Bidders for the subject Energy Project that Genesys intends to solicit construction bids for in the third quarter of 2025. A short list of three (3) to five (5) firms will be developed. This short list of Pre-Qualified Bidders will receive the Bid Solicitation. For this project, the successful low bidder, as a condition of being awarded the construction contract, must submit and have approved a project specific Utilization Plan for MBE, WBE and SDVOB Subcontractors in accordance with the goals that will be included in the Bid Documents and must execute a Project Labor Agreement (PLA) that will be included in the Bid Documents. The list of Pre-Qualified Bidders will be selected by Genesys and will be approved by DASNY. The minimum experience level required is as follows: Experience serving as a Prime Contractor on DASNY construction projects; Experience serving as a Prime Contractor for a minimum of five (5) multi-discipline projects that include, Electrical, HVAC, Piping, Instrumentation; Experience serving as Prime Contractor for at least (3) project in excess of $3 million; Similar, recent experience, with Energy Upgrade Projects; Experience in working in and around operating facilities; and Ability to obtain Payment and Performance Bonds for the project. General Project Description: The anticipated scope of work for the project includes the following: Furnish and install two (2) chilled water bypass control valves including differential pressure transmitters, piping, shut off valves, and pipe insulation; Furnish and install one (1)heating water bypass control valve, including a differential pressure transmitter, piping, shut off valves, and pipe insulation; Replace hot water control valve on AHU-3; Replace electric motors on two (2) existing chilled water pumps with energy efficient motors suitable for VFD. Include two (2) variable frequency drives; Replace electric motors on two (2) existing secondary heating water pumps with energy efficient motors suitable for VFD. Install two (2) variable frequency drives; Furnish and install one (1) new VAV box in room #302, and two (2) new VAV boxs in room #207 & #213 respectively. Replace existing EF-3 exhaust fan; Replace all sensors and transmitters on AHU-1, 2, 3 & 4; Replace filters, fan belts, and clean heating and cooling coils on AHU-1, 2, 3 & 4; Upgrade DDC controls; Replace fire dampers and smoke dampers where required; Replace existing light bulbs with new LED bulbs, and; Install new occupancy sensors and power packs. In addition to the above, all projects include ancillary trade work, including, HVAC, electrical, controls etc. The estimated construction cost range is $1 to $4 Million. Minority Owned Sub-Contracting Goal: 18% Women Owned Sub-Contracting Goal: 12% Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Business Contracting Goal: 6% Contract term: Twelve (12) months *The value for this project is based on a financial range.
