The Cape Breton Regional Municipality (CBRM) is currently contemplating infrastructure upgrades as part of the CBRM Capital Works Upgrades for the 2025 construction season. The project is in the North Division of the CBRM in Sydney Mines, Nova Scotia concerning an existing 150 mm diameter waterline to be replaced and upgraded on a section of Main Street stretching from Civic #1097 to Meadowbrook Drive. a) Main Street (Civic #1097 to Meadowbrook Drive) The first component of this project is to perform a hydraulic analysis of the proposed watermain from Civic #1097 to the dead-end section of the line near Meadowbrook Drive. After confirmation of the pipe size, the section between Civic #1097 and Meadowbrook Drive involves the replacement of approximately 887 meters of 150 mm diameter existing water main with a new size watermain determined by the hydraulic analysis c/w appropriate valves and services required for proper functionality and regulatory compliance to the residences and businesses in the area. TIMELINE: The owner is seeking an engineering consultant to provide engineering consulting services throughout the delivery of the project. The successful proponent shall have knowledge, skills and capacity to fulfill the requirements identified in the scope of services herein. Design and tender package is expected to be completed by September 30, 2025; construction timing to be determined. *Budget is unreleased.
