Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Sumter Township, Minnesota. Conceptual plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; and sidewalk / parking lot.
MnDOT will construct a roundabout at the Hwy 212 and Hwy 15 intersection near Brownton. Additionally, resurfacing will take place at the Hwy 15 and railway intersection to improve the road surface. The project is scheduled for construction in 2026. Roundabouts Project need Slow vehicle speeds and lower risk of serious and fatal crashes Reduce traffic back-ups and improve traffic flow Provide safer pedestrian and bike crossings Roundabouts show 86% decrease in fatal crashes 83% decrease in life altering injury crashes 42% decrease in all crashes Source: A Study of the Traffic Safety at Roundabouts in Minnesota (MnDOT 2017) As of July 29 , 2025 , This project is included in the State's 2025-2029 Capital Improvement Program (CIP) *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP).
