Renovation of a municipal facility in Hialeah, Florida. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.

The City of Hialeah is seeking bids from qualified elevator contractors to provide the modernization of two (2) electric traction passenger elevators at Hialeah City Hall located at 501 Palm Ave, Hialeah Fl 33010. The scope of work includes but is not limited to, new equipment, controls, wiring, cab, interior walls, ceilings and flooring, upgrades to the elevator rooms, connection to the existing fire alarm system, and any other item required for a complete elevator modernization. Last Date for Receipt of Written Questions: Tuesday, August 19, 2025 2:00 PM 1. All work shall be performed in accordance with the most applicable edition of the National Safety Code for Elevators, Dumbwaiters, Escalators, and Moving Walks (ASME a17.1), ANSI A117.1 Barrier Free Code as pertaining to Passenger Elevators, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the National Electrical Code, and any State and Local elevator codes that are applicable. 2. Work to be coordinated so that each elevator remains out-of-service for building occupants for the minimum possible time. Each elevator should only be out of service the minimum possible time to prevent unnecessary inconvenience to users. 3. Remove and dispose of all existing equipment listed to be replaced for each elevator. 4. Removal includes but not limited to, controllers, pumping units, wiring, travel cables, hall call stations & hall indicators, hall and car door equipment, door operators, and hatch switches. 5. Provide equipment as specified herein, including: New pump units, controllers, fixtures, leveling systems, car/ hoistway door equipment, wiring, sealing of penetrations in the rated enclosures that are created as a result of this work and other work is detailed in the IFB Specifications. 6. Cab controls, audible signals, all directional indicators, lights, Braille signage, and communication equipment shall be installed in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act Accessibility Guideline. 7. The required permits shall be obtained from the State of Florida, Bureau of Elevator Safety. Contractor is responsible for coordinating with licensed inspectors to be present for alteration inspections when work is complete prior to releasing equipment for Owners use. Elevator Contractor is responsible for all permit applications, fees and inspection costs. 8. The contractor shall supply and install a complete elevator system, fully functional and operational and suitable in every way for the service required. Perform demolition in such a manner as to eliminate hazards to persons or property, provide safeguards including full height un-perforated barricades, warning signs and other items needed to protect personnel throughout this contract 9. Elevator Contractor will prepare drawings and/or cut sheets at company's expense, showing the general arrangement of the elevator equipment. 10. Two (2) complete sets of wiring diagrams will be furnished by the Contractor to the City. 11. Contractor shall submit a written warranty, signed by the manufacturer agreeing to repair, restore or replace defective elevator work within specified warranty period at no cost to the City; this includes labor and parts or material. o Warranty Period: 12 months from the date of Final Completion inspection releasing equipment to City's use and the date of Final Acceptance as determined by the satisfaction of all the requirements set forth in this Specification. o Elevator Contractor will warranty all parts manufactured by others that are incorporated into this project. Roller Guides Replace the existing guides M. Fixtures Replace the existing signal fixtures and emergency lighting N. Car Enclosure Retain existing car enclosure O. Entrances Retain existing entrances P. Doors Retain existing doors Q. Door Operation Replace with new door operation door R. Governor Replace existing governors, tail sheaves and ropes S. Rope Grippers Replace the existing rope grippers T. Ropes Replace the existing ropes U. Clear Inside Retain V. Travel Retain W. Overhead Machines Replace the existing overhead machines X.
