Renovation of a military facility in Morristown, New Jersey. Completed plans call for the renovation of a military facility.
PROJECT: Roof Repair at Morristown Armory PROJECT #: MT018 LOCATION: 430 Western Avenue, Morristown, NJ 07960 OWNER: NEW JERSEY, DEPARTMENT OF MILITARY AFFAIRS EST. COST: $1,000,000 CO75 - Roofing Historical Sites CO72 - Roofing Tile/Slate/Shingles Roof replacement and roof repairs for the Morristown Armory, New Jersey Army National Guard. Construction consists of the following square footage: Approximately 8,000 SF of roof replacement work Approximately 13,000 SF of reoof repair work. Approximately 43,000 SF of roof sealer work Repairs to existing cupola No work scheduled for the standing seam roof. Provisions and installation of temporary facilities including fencing and property protection. Demolition of natural slate roofing, underlayment and built-in metal lined wood gutters & metal UD downspouts. Legal removal and disposal of demolished materials. Provisions and installation of new natural slate roofing system and rebuilding / repair of built-in metal lined wood gutters & metal downspouts. Patching and painting exterior wood trim cornices. Provisions and installation of repairs to existing natural slate roof and built-in metal lined wood gutters & metal downspouts. Provisions and installation of a resurfacing system to existing built-up roofing. Provisions and installation of repairs to existing large wood framed cupola. OTHER WORK Other related and accessory work identified in the contract drawings and specifications. Conduct construction meetings and coordination of work forces. Hard copies of the Bid Documents are not available for purchase Completed bids will be received via BID EXPRESS until 2:00 PM on and then publicly opened andread aloud. No bid will be accepted thereafter. DMA is soliciting bid proposals for the following prime contract. Bidders must be prequalified in the followingclassification pursuant to NJSA 52:35-3 by the Department of Treasury, Division of Property Management and Construction (DPMC). Bidders are required to submit a copy of the DPMC prequalified classification with their bid. Thefollowing classification required: Current proof must be on file in DPMC and/or submitted to this office not later than TIME SCHEDULED FOR BIDOPENING. Failure to do so may result in the disqualification of the bidder. Bidders are required to submit a copy of proof of registration with the NJSTART program. Information regardingNJSTART may be obtained at the following web site: WWW.NJSTART.GOV All public works projects in New Jersey require Prevailing Wages. Effective February 18, 1992, Regulation N.J.A.C.12:60-2.1 and 6.1 of the New Jersey Prevailing Wage Act, N.J.S.A. 34:11-56.25 et seq requires that certified payrollrecords must be submitted to the public body, by all contractors and subcontractors, for each employee on the projectwithin ten (10) days of the payment of wages. The contractor is responsible for paying Official Prevailing Wage in effecton Contract Award Date. To assist in the bidding process, contractors may wish to use an unofficial Prevailing Wage found at:http://lwd.dol.state.nj.us/labor/wagehour/wagerate/pwr_construction.html No bidder may withdraw his bid within ninety (90) calendar days after the actual date of the opening thereof. Each bidder must deposit with his bid, security in an amount and form subject to the conditions provided in the Instructions for Bidders. Successful bidder(s) must provide a 100% Performance Bond and 100% Payment Bond when the project is awarded. Attention of bidders is particularly called to the requirements as to condition of employment to be observed and minimum wage rates to be paid under the contract. Bidders are required to comply with the requirements of P.L. 1975, C.127 Affirmative Action Program, and P.L. 1945, C.169 Law Against Discrimination. A MANDATORY PRE-BID MEETING will be held at on at Morristown Armory, 430 Western Ave., Morristown, NJ 070960. Immediately after the pre-bid meeting field walk through will occur.
