Northeast Michigan Materials Management Authority (NMMMA) is accepting proposals to purchase and install equipment for a sorting line, baler and compactor located at 1334 Airport Rd, Alpena MI 49707. Equipment will be used for a new dual stream sorting facility to be house within a building to be constructed. Please see attachment A for background information on projected volumes, projected material composition, materials to be accepted and anticipated bales to be made. See Attachment B for the Preliminary Building Arrangement. All equipment and materials furnished and installed by the vendor shall strictly conform to all current, applicable codes and regulations of the State of Michigan and the authority having jurisdiction. The Vendor should correct any violations resulting from stipulations in existing codes at its own expense. All equipment and materials shall be new and may not have been in service before unless explicitly listed by the vendor in the Proposal Documents. Vendor is responsible for the proposed requirements below including furnishing and installing all electrical equipment, building modifications as needed and fully operational equipment. The NMMMA reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to wave irregularity in the proposals. Each Respondent shall guarantee its total bid price for a period of One hundred and twenty (120) Calendar Days from the date of the bid opening. Construction for the dual stream MRF shall begin as soon as the Contractor receives the Notice to Proceed, currently scheduled for the last week in August 2025. The estimated startup date for the new dual stream facility is fall of 2026. The ability of the Contractor to start the construction and implement the processing of material in a timely manner will be a factor when evaluating proposals.
