Description

Site work for a power facility in Edmonton, Alberta. Conceptual plans call for site work for a power facility.

To provide renewable energy to the next stages of Blatchford development, Energy Center #2 (EC2) will be another sustainable energy source in addition to the existing Energy Center #1 (EC1) which relies on the existing geo-exchange field. The key objective of EC2 is to supply renewable thermal energy utilizing a new geoexchange borefield along with peak loads being serviced by boilers and cooling towers. Delivery method is Project Develop Delivery Model (PDDM). TIMELINE: Preliminary design work has been completed. An Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) will be utilized; Request for Proposals for IPD services has been issued by the owner. Design and construction will proceed in a staged approach to meet interim energy requirements until the SHX and EC2 facilities are fully commissioned and in-service (2029/2030).
