This is an RFQ (request for quotes). This is not an IFB (bid). The Broome DDSO intends to award the contract to the most responsible and responsive vendor that provides the lowest cost and meets the requirements detailed in the scope of work. Upon request, vendor must demonstrate 2 years of relevant experience on prior projects of similar magnitude and its subject to vendor responsibility determination. Broome DDSO reserves the right to reject all quotes. In deciding whether to submit a quote, please be aware the awarded vendor must adhere to the time frames outlined in the scope of work. The awarded vendor will also be required to submit certificates of Liability Insurance and Worker's Compensation Insurance as well as completed Lobbying Law Forms, and signed Appendix A. Please be prepared to submit these in a timely fashion. The Broome DDSO will make no concessions to the vendor for any alleged misunderstanding or deception because of quantity, quality, character, or other condition. The Broome DDSO's interpretation of specifications shall be final and binding. Please note, all staff working at the project site will be required to sign an attendance sheet for record purposes. This includes the residence visitor log and/or an attendance sheet provided by the Maintenance Department. In the event of a tie, contract will be awarded to the Contractor whose bid was received earliest. Please check your submission for arithmetic errors and correct labor wages. Broome DDSO reserves the right to reject any quote which does not reflect the correct prevailing wages in accordance with the provided wage schedule. Tabulation of quotes will be posted to the listings on NYS Contract Reporter along with the award. SCOPE OF WORK includes, but is not necessarily limited to the following: 1. Remove the existing asphalt shingle roofing system complete down to the existing wood decking. Any damaged decking will be replaced. 2. Provide and install a new 30-year asphalt shingle roofing system complete, including all flashings, underlayment's, ice barriers, venting, accessories, and other roofing materials as required for a complete system. 3. Remove and replace exhaust vent covers as per existing, typical. Exhaust vents must be installed to go above the roof line per code requirements 4. Remove and replace drip edge at all eaves and gables, typical. 5. Flash all penetrations, typical. 6. Remove and replace ridge vents on all ridges, typical. Verify soffits are continuous vented along eave line everywhere. Venting is required for roof systems over conditioned spaces. 7. No asbestos-containing materials may be used. 8. All work done shall comply with NYS Building codes and all other applicable codes. 9. Work must be warrantied for any defects in the roofing or other failures for a period of one year from the time Contractor is paid for the job.
