Site work and paving for a civil project in Haivana Nakya, Arizona. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; and bridge / tunnel.

Work primarily consists of the construction of a 1,100-foot-long single-lane asphalt road with 32 roadside parking spaces and installation of two precast and prestressed beam bridges. The bridge designs are 64 and 76 feet long, both 30 feet wide with clear heights of approximately 8 feet. Additional items include relocating a CXT vault restroom, constructing new and demolishing old picnic areas, installing new and removing old culverts, removing retaining walls, reconstructing a small channel, and various small improvements associated with the picnic areas and trailhead. The magnitude of this project is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. Period of Performance: 09/01/2025 to 08/31/2026 *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document. Scope of work includes: o Demolish and remove five picnic areas and restroom within the road construction footprint see Sheet S-01. Empty restroom vaults prior to demolition. o Demo a picnic area near stream shown on Sheet S-01, Detail 1 on Sheet D-01. o Reestablish survey control points based on CP1 from the 2010 site survey, see Sheet G-02. o Place three concrete picnic tables and install pedestal grills on existing parking lot shown on Sheet S-01, see Detail 2 on Sheet D-01. Pedestal grills shall be Pilot Rock's Model No. A-20/S B2 or approved equal. Concrete picnic tables shall be Outdoor Creations Inc. Model No. 104FSS or approved equal. o Build a 4-foot-wide and 25-foot-long concrete stairway with railing, see Sheet S01 and Sheet D-02. o Build a 5-foot-wide and 20-foot-long concrete path, see Sheet S-01 and Detail 2 on Sheet D-03. Ensure path meets FSORAG accessibility requirements include where the path crosses the roadside ditch. o Relocate CXT vault restroom approximately 300 feet from its existing position to the area created by cut and fill shown on Proposed Road and Bridge Plans Sheet 5. Protect fill slope with Class 4 for riprap. CXT model shown on Sheet D-04. o Pour concrete between the CXT restroom and the asphalt parking spaces and on each side of the restroom. o Place riprap on the fill slope of the near the restroom, see Sheet S-02. o Relocate fee station including bulletin board and fee tube, see Sheet S-01. o Relocate two trans bins and one recycle bin, see Sheet S-01. o Remove remnants of stone masonry retaining walls which have failed or are no longer needed, will be marked by the COR. 2 o Demo two picnic area near Sabino Creek shown on Sheet S-02, see Detail 1 on Sheet D-01. o Place three concrete picnic tables and install pedestal grills on existing parking lot shown on Sheet S-02, see Detail 2 on Sheet D-01. Pedestal grills shall be Pilot Rock's Model No. A-20/S B2 or approved equal. Concrete picnic tables shall be Outdoor Creations Inc. Model No. 104FSS or approved equal. o Construct a 12-foot-wide asphalt paved ramp from STA 4+40 of the road alignment from the Proposed Road and Bridge Plans to the existing road to the southern existing parking lot, see Sheet D-05. The designed slope is 5 percent to provide an Outdoor Recreation Access Route (ORAR) to the southern picnic areas. Ensure path meets FSORAG accessibility requirements include where the road crosses the roadside ditch. o Remove two 6-foot-span arch pipe CMPs, each approximately 65 feet long shown on Sheet S-02. Remove upstream headwall and downstream retaining wall, see Sheet D-07. o Install a concrete box culvert, 10-foot-span, 3-foot-rise, and 10-foot-long with wing and cutoff walls. Final dimensions to be determined by the contractor and culvert manufacture, see Sheet D-09. o Reconstruct channel, place boulders,seed, mulch, and protect banks with a 100% natural rolled erosion control product such as Coir matting. Detail shown on Sheet D-06. o Remove retaining wall downstream of pedestrian bridge, see Sheet D-07. o Recontour parking lots as shown on Sheet S-02, place boulders, seed, mulch, and protect banks with 100% natural rolled erosion control product such as Coir matting, see Sheet D-08. o Subcontract willow propagation for bank stabilization. The project site is located approximately a half mile south of the community of Summerhaven, AZ at the end of the Catalina Highway where Sabino Canyon Park Road dead ends. The legal land description is Section 31, Township 11 South, Range 16 East, Pima County. The project area centroid is approximately LAT: 32.428914 LONG: -110.755351
